Historical Marker Being Dedicated at Ali Home

The home in Louisville where Muhammad Ali grew up will have a historical marker added next week.
The Courier-Journal reports the Kentucky Historical Society is dedicating the marker in honor of the western Louisville home where Ali, who was born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., lived with his parents, Odessa and Cassius Clay Sr., and his brother, Rudolph.
Ali, who was born Jan. 17, 1942, attended Central High School. He began training in boxing as a teenager, eventually becoming the three-time heavyweight champion.
The marker will be dedicated at 10 a.m. EDT Tuesday at the home at 3302 Grand Ave.
The Kentucky Historical Marker Program commemorates historical sites, events and personalities throughout the state.
