Lutheran School Holds Mini-Derby
Holy Trinity Lutheran School held its own Mini-Derby Friday.
Each preschool student got to name their own horse, and ride it to the finish line.
The school does this event each year.
5th graders help their preschool buddies acting as the horse's "trainers".
One trainer, Luke Baker, says they've been busy preparing for the big day!
"Our teacher finds a picture of a horse, we cut it out, let our reading buddy color it, give it a name and then we stuff it with newspaper and put it on a tobacco stick," says Luke.
He also says he hasn't picked his real Derby favorite yet, but he's leaning towards Union Rag.
