Missing Ky Teen Found Safe In Louisiana

Posted: 5:11 PM May 5, 2012

Mayfield, Ky. (AP) -- A Western Kentucky Sheriff says a missing high school freshman has been located safe in Louisiana.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon told WPSD-TV that the 14-year-old girl was found in a residence in Shreveport, La., with Tyler Scott Martin, who was arrested.

Redmon said Martin was charged with rape in Louisiana and is also being held on a kidnapping charge out of Graves County. It was unclear Saturday whether he had an attorney.

On Friday, Redmon said police thought the teen got into a car with a man she met on the internet.

Redmon said the girl was put into protective custody until she can be transported back to her parents.

The AP isn't naming the girl because police now say she is the victim of a sex crime.
