LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Louisville police say a man trying to cross train tracks has died after being struck by a train.
Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell told The Courier-Journal that the man was killed when he was trying to cross the tracks with a woman south of downtown Monday afternoon. The woman wasn't injured.
The man's identity wasn't immediately available, but he was in his early 50s.
The newspaper said the pair had just left a grocery and that the man, who was walking just behind the woman, was carrying grocery bags in both hands.
