After just a one-week trial, a military panel at Fort Campbell took less than three hours to find Sergeant Brent Burke guilty of murdering his estranged wife Tracy Burke and her former mother-in-law Karen Comer in Rineyville in 2007.
Burke's son and stepson testified against him. They were four and nine years old at the time.
This court martial was Burke's fifth trial. The others ended in either mistrials or hung juries in Hardin Circuit Court.
Tuesday night the military panel sentenced Burke to life without parole.
