Human Remains Found in Fleming County

EWING, KY. (AP) -- A coroner says there are signs on a set of human bones found in Fleming County that the person had been beaten before death.

Fleming County Coroner Gary Workman says the remains of a white or Hispanic male, standing about 5-feet, 5-inches tall showed marks on the skull consistent with an attack.

Workman told The Ledger Independent (http://bit.ly/JCRw8m) that the other set of remains found over the last week belonged to a Hispanic female between 17-25 years of age, five foot tall or less.

The first remains, part of a skull, were found April 27 by a resident cleaning out a road culvert at the base of a cliff area. Subsequent searches by state and local police, and cadaver dogs resulted in more bones being found.
