David Wilson to Re-Enroll at Murray State University

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- A Murray State University student who pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment charges in a case involving bomb-making materials in his dorm room has gotten permission to re-enroll in classes.

Murray State assistant vice president of student affairs Mike Young told the Murray Ledger & Times (http://bit.ly/L2JtB7) that the university's judicial board made the decision regarding 18-year-old David Matthew Wilson of Florissant, Mo., last week during a hearing.

A judge sentenced Wilson to 12 months in prison, which was diverted, and a conditional discharge for two years.

Wilson was charged after campus police found a black powder mixed with ammonium nitrate, a pipe and fuse in Wilson's dorm room. The student has said he intended to use the materials to remove a tree trunk on a farm near his home.
