BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Western Kentucky University is ready to move forward with a planned expansion of its nursing program.
WKU President Gary Ransdell told the Daily News (http://bit.ly/JeiHo5) that the project has been in the planning stage for two years, but is ready to move forward now because financing has been secured.
Commonwealth Health Corp. is planning to construct a 77,163-square-foot building adjacent to The Medical Center complex. The new building would be used mostly for WKU's School of Nursing.
Ransdell said the facility would allow WKU to double its number of nursing students, which would benefit health care facilities across the state.
