Hopkinsville Mayor Pushing For Smoking Ban

A Western Kentucky Mayor is pushing to be the next place to have a smoking ban in public places.

Dan Kemp says Hopkinsville is the largest city in the state that hasn't passed such a ban and he wants to change that.

He says he will present an ordinance to the city council next month that would ban indoor smoking in public places such as restaurants.

Kemp says the ordinance is modeled after one passed in Bowling Green.

He says if council member ratify it, a ban could be put into effect as early as July 1st.
