Some students and faculty at WKU acted as prisoners Tuesday, but it was all for a good cause.
WKU's Student Activities Office held their second annual "Jail and Bail" event, which raises money for the United Way of Southern Kentucky.
Students and faculty were locked up in a cell at Centennial Mall and in order to make bail, they each had to collect a total of 50 dollars from people walking by.
"The United Way Jail and Bail is a fun and interactive way to get the students and faculty together on campus to help support the United Way. The awareness isn't as high as we would like it to be on campus right now so this is one kind of easy way we can help raise awareness of what the United Way does for our local community,"says Allison Smith, a Graduate Assistant.
The event raised nearly 700 dollars for the United Way of Southern Kentucky.
