Local Woman a Hometown Hero for Her Dedication to Youth Sports

Team sports are often a vital part of youth, and one woman has dedicated her time to the local league since 2000.

Tina Tuck has served as president, treasurer, coach, and all-around helper for the Warren County Youth Sports softball league for 12 years, and has never had a child participate in the game.

She "loves" the sport, and the life lessons like sportsmanship and teamwork that it teaches the girls.

Tuck works a full time job, and dedicates hundreds of hours each season to the league making sure that it is the best it can be for all of those involved.

"Everything revolves around her. If it wasn't for her, a lot of the stuff with the day-to-day operations of the league wouldn't get done," says Stephen Epley, the President of the league, about Tuck. "Her involvement, her participation has just been out of the kindness of her heart with no one other than the kids of Warren County to assist."

In addition to her love of the game, Tuck also has a personal reason for her dedication to the league.

Last year, then league president Makala Brumit was killed in an automobile accident, and now Tuck says Brumits memory "keeps her going."

Tuck has no plans to leave anytime soon, as she loves being a part of a positive experience for the youth of Warren County.
