Local Man Has Unique Tie to Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby was extra special for one local man who had a unique tie to the race Saturday.

Gary Logsdon and his wife watched the different horse races in Brownsville to root on the horse Trinniberg.

That's because Trinniberg is the son of a horse named Teuflesberg that Logsdon use to own.

That horse was in the derby back in 2007.

"It's an experience that few people are privileged to have. First of all, to have a horse in the derby, it's a remarkable privilege and his son, and a son from the very first crop by Teuflesberg being in the derby, quite an accomplishment," says Gary Logsdon, a Kentucky Derby Fan.

In the end, Trinneberg did not win today, but Logsdon says the horse did win the Swale Stakes in Florida and the Bayshore Stakes in New York.
