Police Honors Fallen Officers
Several law enforcement officers gathered at the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police in Bowling Green today.
They were there to honor fallen police as a part of Fallen Officers week.
This year, Warren County had no officers die in the line of duty.
However, organizers say this is still an important event to have each year.
"Law enforcement is a dangerous job, and unfortunately some have to pay an ultimate sacrifice, and they give their lives to protect the community. May 15th every year is national police officer day, and we take time out to remember those that have served before us," said BGPD Sgt. Shawn Helbig, President of Bowling Green, KY Fraternal Order of Police.
They did honor those officers who died of natural causes.
