Eastern Kentucky Woman's Death Determined as Homicide

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Eastern Kentucky authorities say they have determined a May 5 death was a homicide.

Karen Pitts was found dead in her home near Royalton.

WYMT-TV (http://bit.ly/KcAIXH ) in Hazard reported Kentucky State Police have not publicly identified any suspects, but detectives have been conducting interviews.

Magoffin County Deputy Coroner Brian Parker said the cause of the 44-year-old victim's death was a head injury. Medical tests, including toxicology, are pending.
