Grayson County Inmate Escapes

An inmate from the Grayson County Detention Center has escaped.

Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown say 22-year-old Joshua I. McDowell climbed a fence and took off on foot.

He hitched a ride at a restaurant with a teenage boy, then drove to Lexington.

Police believe McDowell may be in the Irishtown community.

He is a white male, five-foot-eight-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds.

He has brown hair and eyes.

He was serving a three-year sentence for burglary.
