Bowling Green's Alex's Lemonade Stand Day

If you drove around Bowling Green Saturday, you might have noticed more than 40 lemonade stands around town.

Volunteers were trying to raise money to fight childhood cancer.

It's all part of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, which aims to treat and cure cancer patients.

The nationwide organization raises money for Pediatric Kids Research.

One of the kids who was pouring lemonade Saturday happens to be named Alex.

She is a cancer patient, who is currently in remission.

"I'm having fun selling lemonade,"says 8-year-old Alex Creager.

"This lemonade stand is meaningful to us because Alex was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago and we wanted to give back to our community so we picked this particular foundation to give back to," says Leslie Creager, Alex's mom.

In the last seven years, Bowling Green has raised 140 thousand dollars for the foundation.
