U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has classified two more Kentucky counties as disaster areas because of this summer's drought.

The addition of Breckinridge and Grayson counties brings the total to 28 counties.

Gov. Steve Beshear said the drought's grip on Kentucky jeopardizes not only crops and livestock but the livelihoods of farm families.

Other counties in the disaster area are Ballard, Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Hancock, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Logan, Lyon, McCracken, McLean, Marshall, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Todd, Trigg, Union and Webster.
