Sypher Publishes Book About Pitino Encounter

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- The woman convicted of trying to extort cars, cash and a house from Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino, has self-published a book, complaining that while she "eats canned spinach" at a federal prison camp, Pitino is "puffing away on his Cuban cigars and drinking his Bourbon."

Karen Sypher writes about herself in the third person with a co-author using a pseudonym, in "Guilty Until Proven Innocent."

The Courier-Journal says she repeats her claims that Pitino raped her twice in 2003. Pitino has said he briefly had sex with Sypher once, after hours at a restaurant.

Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein said Pitino had no comment, and referred questions to his lawyer, Steve Pence. Pence said in a statement Sypher is "repeating the same lies that a federal jury unanimously rejected."
