Montgomery Gentry Headlining Tornado Benefit Concert

Posted: 5:20 AM May 3, 2012
Reporter: AP

Montgomery Gentry is headlining a concert next week to help people affected by storms and tornadoes a couple of months ago in eastern Kentucky.

Kentucky natives Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry will perform May 9 at the Kentucky Cares Concert in Lexington. Also scheduled to perform is fellow Kentuckian Laura Bell Bundy.

Montgomery says in a news release he wants to do everything he can to help people and businesses affected by the storms in his home state. Gentry says he's looking forward to raising funds that are much needed.

At least two dozen people were fatally injured as tornadoes struck Kentucky on March 2.

The event is being held at Busters Billiards & Backroom, with proceeds going to the local American Red Cross.
