Wow. Were you this upset when Rosa Parks refused to go to the back of the bus?
As of 2010, over 6500 languages exist throughout the world. Most of them have "thank you" or some other vocabulary to support such expressions of gratitude.
So the people that lost everything...are there not agencies rushing in to help them?
Of course, this is assuming you meant to say "can't". Proofreading is so over rated. Like bottled water.

This is just wrong.. we got people and family that lost everything right here in kentucky and they are begging for shoes for kids that can even say the word thank you..... for shame on you teachers and the school...
