Best Places To Work In Kentucky

They are the best places to work in Kentucky, according to The Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and 5 of them call Bowling Green home.

Topping the list for the small to medium category ARGI Financial Group came in 4th.

"I love this company, and to have it acknowledged, especially in the first year of applying is really exciting for us," says Jeanne Fisher, an employee at ARGI.

Following close behind was Connected Nation, a technology organization creating affordable internet through broad-band services.

And behind them, is Bowling Green Technical College at number 24 and Warren RECC at number 28.

So what sets these companies apart from all the rest?

Gail Barbour is the financial aid coordinator at Bowling Green Technical College, she can continue her education because the college helps pay for her tuition.

"I'm currently taking classes at WKU and to have that tuition waiver is a great benefit for me and for my family," says Barbour.

The employees at ARGI say their flexible hours and benefits like gym memberships are reasons they love their job..

"If you work hard, you get to play hard and they even have something called summer hours where you can take a half day every week, or every other week," says Fisher.

And in the large company category Independence Bank received its 6th nomination, coming in at number 4.

President, Brad Howard, says the company hires people who are not only good at their job, but enjoy their job as well.

"The employees actually own 18 percent of the company through an ESOP program, Independence Bank is owned by a family the Reed Family, 51 percent, but the employees own about 18 percent. So, we're watching things as much as we possible can."

Many of these companies say this is not only an accomplishment for themselves, but for the entire community in Bowling Green.

The companies are chosen based on surveys taken by their employees and customers.
