Hospitals and Medical Schools Partner Against Child Abuse

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A group that includes the four children's hospitals and four medical schools in Kentucky and Indiana has announced its formation with a goal of eliminating child abuse in both states.

The Partnership to Eliminate Child Abuse said Wednesday it wants to work with news media and organizations that work to protect children and plans to provide educational materials such as a video, a documentary, op-ed columns and public service announcements.

The group includes Kosair Children's Hospital; University of Louisville Pediatrics -- Forensic Medicine; Kentucky Children's Hospital; University of Kentucky -- Department of Pediatrics; University of Pikeville -- Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine; Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health; Indiana University School of Medicine, Section of Child Protection Programs; and Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent.
