HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) -- University of Arkansas System President Donald Bobbitt will recommend that a Bowling Green school administrator be chosen to lead the Arkansas School of Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs.
Bobbitt selected Corey Alderdice to be the director of the school. Alderdice is currently assistant director for admissions and public relations at the Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Bowling Green, Ky.
Alderdice will replace Janet Hugo, who is scheduled to retire June 30. The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees must approve the selection of Alderdice as director at the school, which is part of the University of Arkansas System.
About 200 juniors and seniors from around the state attend the school.
Pulaski County Special School District dean of students Marcella Dalla Rosa also was a finalist.
