LONDON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky State Police have arrested a man in the death of a 50-year-old London woman who was discovered inside a burned home.

Arraignment for 46-year-old Jeffrey W. Sweeney is set for Friday. Sweeney was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with murder, arson, robbery and two counts of tampering with evidence.

According to police, authorities were called to a house fire around 10:30 p.m. on March 29. They discovered the body of Teresa A. White, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office indicates White died from blunt force trauma.

Sweeney was being held in the Laurel County Detention Center.
