A festival in western Kentucky that commemorates the story of a family that claimed to see a space ship with aliens land near their home in 1955 is growing in its second year.

The Kentucky New Era reports that the Little Green Men festival in the Kelly community of Christian County drew a few curious visitors last year, but this year's two-day festival doubled in size.

Organizer Joann Smithey said this year's festival offered two stages for concerts and several vendors as well as political booths, food, carnival rides and a UFO bounce house.

She says the festival is based on a well-known story about a farm family from Kelly.
