Dewayne “Dukes” Hatler, 67, of Bowling Green, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital.

The Warren County native was born Nov. 8, 1944, to the late James Winford and Josephine Foster Hatler and is survived by his wife, Rhonda Faye Higginbotham Hatler. Dewayne was a member of Bay Fork Baptist Church. He had started his degree work with Goshen Masonic Lodge No. 503, he loved NASCAR, horse racing, playing poker with his buddies, and he loved his family and friends. Dewayne never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with burial in Bays Fork Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.

Survivors include three sons, Terry Dewayne Hatler (Pamela) of Alvaton, Keith Hatler of Scottsville and Tpr. Michael Allen Hatler (Stacy) of Bowling Green; a daughter, Stephany Faye Campbell of Bowling Green; a sister, Scarlette Hatler Dyer (David) of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Emily Sweat (Tim), Nick Hatler, Michael Bonham, Kelcy Bonham and Shelby Hatler; a great-grandchild, Kaelyn Sweat, and one on the way due in October.
