Charles Herman Puckett, a native of Bowling Green, left this world for his heavenly home after a long battle with dementia on April 5, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. and Jewell Toms Puckett, Allison Niswonger and Leslie Niswonger; a brother, Dr. D. Hugh Puckett; and a nephew, John Stinson. Charles served in the U.S. Army both in World War II and was attending Western when he was called back into the Korean War. After his military duty, he graduated from the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Mo., and pastored Baptist Bible church for 45 years. He pastored in Illinois for 15 years and South Carolina for 15 and had short-term pastorates for the other 15 years with mission trips to South America and Germany, retiring in 1996 and returning to the Bowling Green area.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Page Puckett; four daughters, Beth Niswonger (Dan) of Urbana, Ill., Melissa Liedkie of Irving, Texas, Autumn Puckett of Charlotte, N.C., and Lori Nagy (Robert) of Ashland, Ohio; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Ina) Puckett and Eugene Puckett; a sister, Irene Motley; a sister-in-law, Joanne Puckett; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with interment at Fairview Cemetery.
