Harry W. Thurman, 88, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday at Magnolia Village at 12:06 a.m. He was a native of Louisville and was born Aug. 8, 1923. He was preceded by his parents, George Thurman and Mary Lee Epperson, one late sister, Jean Hicks, and a late brother, George Edward Thurman.

Harry was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a retired manager from United Service Equipment in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII, a member of Bowling Green Masonic Lodge No. 73 F.&A.M. and the Rizpah Shrine Temple, a graduate of the University of Louisville and a member of the Honorary Society of Sigma Phi Sigma. He also loved fishing and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Broome Thurman. They were married for 68 years. Also two daughters, Sharon Pfeiffer of Bowling Green and Stephanie Brown (Stan) of Lebanon, Pa.; one sister, Mary Catherine Wilde of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Todd Thornbury (Karen), Kelly Williams (Kevin), Cary Brown and Scott Pfeiffer (Nicole); nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane chapel, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Arrangements are entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
