Barbara Evelyn White Nickerson, 74, formerly of Glasgow, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at her residence in Bowling Green.
The Barren County native was a daughter of the late James Russell and Pauline Dean White and was preceded in death by her husband, Ned “Smokey” Nickerson, and two infant sisters, Mary Alice and Virginia Nell White. Barbara was a graduate of Hiseville High School and Mrs. Morrison’s Business School of Glasgow. She was a past employee of Hiseville High School, the city of Glasgow, owner of Smokey Pig Bar-B-Que and an employee of Dollar General Store in Bowling Green. She was a member of Meadow Land Baptist Church.
Survivors include her first husband, H.H. Johnson Jr. (Teresa) of Glasgow; a son, Ronnie Johnson of Bowling Green; two brothers, Otis White (Joyce) and Bobby White (Carol), both of Glasgow; a nephew, Jimmy White (Diane); a niece, Sandy Corbin (Kenneth); five great-nieces and great-nephews, Jonathan Corbin (Cybile), Brittney Corbin and James, Jess and Leah White, all of Glasgow; and a great-great-nephew, Jackson Corbin of Bowling Green.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
