Paul Ewing Hogan, 89, of Cave City, went to his final rest on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1923, in Hart County to the late Alonzo “Lonnie” Hogan and Gladys Isenberg Hogan Reynolds. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Jean Doyle Hogan; and his daughter, Elizabeth Sharon Hogan of Louisville.
He was a noted finish/trim carpenter who worked for a number of area building contractors before retiring from Ramar Corp. in Venice, Fla., where he worked as an inspector. A devout Christian for 67 years, he was a member of Shady Grove Church of Christ, the Venice, Fla., Church of Christ and most recently, Horse Cave Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Thelma Hogan of Clinton Township, Mich.; a niece, Carolyn Wright (Richard); a great-nephew, Chris Wright (Allison); and a great-niece, Amy Wright Rasmussen (Erik), all of Nashville; an aunt, Katherine Isenberg Short of Glasgow; and a number of cousins and close neighbors and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hogan was predeceased by his three brothers, Edwin Merrell Hogan, William Harold Hogan and George Howard Hogan.
Funeral services with Wayne Hatcher and Billy Bybee presiding will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, with burial in Cave City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 1 p.m. today.
