William Maxie Henry Jewell, 93, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
He owned and operated his own janitorial service and was a Wholesale Electric Supply Co. Inc. retiree after 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Rebecca Gant Jewell; parents, Maxie and Amanda Jewell; a sister, Alberta Herndon; three sons, Ronald L. Jewell, William Harvey Jewell and Kenneth E. Jewell; and an aunt, Frances Edmonds.
William leaves to cherish his memory his five sons, William Howard Jewell (Tina), Jerry Jewell (Brenda), Mike Shipley (CeCe) of Louisville, Gill Nunn (Dorthea) of Virginia Beach, Va., and Donzay Patterson (Carol) of Indianapolis; four daughters, Cherry Rawls (Kip) of Corona, Calif., Sharnell Smith (Houston) of Bowling Green, Darnell Granderson (Wilber) of Evansville, Ind., and Felisha Nunn of Auburn; a sister, Ruby Edmonds of Bowling Green; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Jewell of Lexington; two great-aunts, Beatrice Martin of Bowling Green and Evalina Edmonds of Alvaton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services, which are entrusted to Gatewood and Sons Funeral Chapel, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Taylor Chapel AME Church at 503 Clay St., Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
