Helen Tillman Netherton, 85, of Gamaliel, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.
She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Madill, Okla., to the late James Carl Tillman and Effie Landreth Tillman. She was a homemaker and a member of Beautiful Home Baptist Church. She was the widow of Hurla O. Netherton, who died May 13, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Alfred Turner of Gamaliel and Bonnie and Kenneth Arterburn of London; a son, Charles Netherton of Gamaliel; a sister, Lilly Hallmark of Madill, Okla.; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Tommy, James and Timmy Netherton; a brother, Charles Frank Tillman; and three sisters, Tina Martin, Daisy Burrus and Viola Looney.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Beautiful Home Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Beautiful Home Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Beautiful Home Cemetery.
