Oma Perkins Walters, 81, of Munfordville, passed away at 1:22 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Hart County native was born June 24, 1930. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wilkerson Temple United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Lewis Thad Perkins and the late Lillie Florence (Reynolds) Perkins. She was the wife of the late Carl Walters.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Dennison of Horse Cave; a granddaughter, Allison McCutchen (Ken) of Bowling Green; a grandson, Adam Dennison (Amanda) of Horse Cave; a great-granddaughter, Whitley Rose Dennison of Horse Cave; a great-stepgranddaughter, Christa Lynn Carroll of Horse Cave; two sisters, Nellie Self of Munfordville and Ruth Snodgrass of Louisville; two brothers, Leslie Perkins of Indianapolis and Leon Perkins of Shepherdsville; and a beloved caregiver, Doris Thompson of Munfordville.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther and Dorothy Perkins, Ruby Piotrowski and Alma Hall; a brother, Lester Perkins; and a son-in-law, Robert Wayne “Doc” Dennison.
Arrangements are being handled by Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to time of service Tuesday. Funeral service will be at Brooks Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with Bro. Curtis Slinker officiating. Interment will be at Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.
