Virginia Law Jones Ayre, 86, of Bowling Green, passed away at 11:26 a.m. Saturday at Greenview Regional Hospital.
The Franklin native was born Sept. 19, 1925, to her late parents, W.D. Law and Joy Hodges Law. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Jones; and second husband, Dave Ayre.
Virginia was a retired office worker for Potter-Brumfield Co. and member of State Street United Methodist Church. She had been a resident of Bowling Green Retirement Village for the last five years.
She is survived by a son, Rick Jones (Sarah) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a stepson, Chip Ayre (Ann Love) of Gallatin, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Drew Jones of Nashville, Rod Jones (Amy) of Nashville, David Ayre (Christin) of Gallatin, Tenn., and Andrew Ayre of Fredericksburg, Va.; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, with visitation from 1 p.m. until funeral time Friday at the funeral home. The family chose cremation and arrangements are entrusted to the care of J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
