Roger Warren Campbell, 65, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, after fighting a long illness.
Roger was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Jamestown, Tenn., the son of Bill and Dorothy (Millsap) Campbell. He moved to Muncie in the mid-1960s where he met and married Lucinda (Hicks) in 1967, and was married for 40 years until her death in 2007. Roger lived in Bowling Green the last seven years of his life.
Roger was a member of the Eagles 231, Moose Lodge #33 and bowled for the Moose Travel League. He was an avid fisherman, NASCAR fan, sports fan and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Roger worked for General Motors for more than 36 years, retiring in 2006 from the Corvette Assembly Plant. He worked at New Venture Gear for 20 years, then transferred to different General Motors plants and ended up at the Corvette Assembly Plant.
Surviving are his two daughters and a son, Melinda (husband, Chuck) Paul of Bowling Green, Pamela (fiancé, Jason Kellogg) Charbonneau of Farragut, Iowa, and Roger W.S. “Billy” (wife Pamela) Campbell of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Amber, Casey, Matthew, Jennifer, Quentin, Eric and Bryce; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Keely and Jaxon; sisters, Sue Burt, Ann Choate (husband Carl) and Jean Simpson (husband Ward); brothers, Nick Campbell (wife Lanae) and Joe Campbell (wife Peggy); and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandmother Grannie Pearl; special uncle, Warren; and a brother-in-law, Richard Burt.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, in Muncie, Ind., with the Rev. Charles Paul Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
