Patricia Johnson, 54, died at home on June 11, 2012, after a long battle with cancer.

Patricia (Tricia) was born in Worcester, Mass., on July 31, 1957, the daughter of Joseph F. Griffin and Alice G. (Markey) Griffin.

She was a 1975 graduate of Marian Catholic High School in Worcester and a 1979 graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. Later she pursued a career in financial advising and prior to her illness worked for Hilliard Lyons and Edward D. Jones, both in Bowling Green.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two loving children, Caitlin J. Johnson, 27, of Chicago, and Daniel G. Johnson, 24, of Bowling Green, as well as a brother, Joseph F. Griffin Jr. and his wife, Jody, of Hendersonville, Tenn., plus a very close extended family including many cousins, nephews, nieces and close friends. Tricia was supported during her illness by many loving friends, neighbors and caregivers whom she loved deeply.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and also attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church, both in Bowling Green. Her many hobbies included book club, investment club, traveling, reading, sewing and gardening. She was a member of PEO, Chapter O of Bowling Green.

Visitation will be at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel, 820 Lovers Lane Bowling Green from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Visitation on Friday begins at noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church with funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is located at 434 Church Ave., Bowling Green. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 411 2nd Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
