Fort Wayne, IN – The Fort Wayne TinCaps (20-24) scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon at Parkview Field to beat the Bowling Green Hot Rods (24-20) 2-1 in walk-off fashion. In the middle game of the three-game set, Juniel Querecuto provided the only run-scoring play for the Hot Rods when he singled in Jake Hager in the third inning. Despite the loss, the Hot Rods have still won seven of ten games.

For the second time in as many nights in the series, the Hot Rods scored the game’s first run. Jake Hager began the third inning with a walk and was advanced to second on an errant pickoff throw by Fort Wayne starter Colin Rea. Later in the inning with one out and Hager at third base, the leadoff man Querecuto singled into left-centerfield to score Hager and give the Hot Rods a 1-0 lead.

That was all of the offense for the Hot Rods on Sunday afternoon as Fort Wayne scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to even the series at one game apiece. Austin Hubbard allowed a solo home run to Lee Orr and an RBI-single to Travis Whitmore to blow the save and receive the loss. Hot Rods starting pitcher Ryan Carpenter hurled five scoreless innings to extend his scoreless inning streak to nine but received a no decision.
