Citizen's Police Academy to be Offered at KSP Post

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) -- Want to know more about Kentucky State Police and its operations?

The state police post based at Morehead is preparing for its next Citizen's Police Academy.

The academy is an 11-week program that gives the public a working knowledge of state police and law enforcement operations.

State police personnel offer the instruction. They will provide students with an overview of the major units and issues of concern among citizens. Topics include patrols, traffic stops and accident and criminal investigations.

Classes for the next academy will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Classes will be held consecutively each week at the Martha Caudill Stacy Building in West Liberty.
