RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- A Kentucky National Guard brigade is preparing for a ceremony at its new home in Richmond.

The 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade is moving its headquarters from Louisville to Richmond.

Guard officials and local leaders will oversee the uncasing of the brigade's colors at the ceremony Friday morning at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Richmond.

The uncasing of the colors, or unfurling of the flag, will symbolize the brigade's relocation.

The 149th is the largest of the five major support commands in the Kentucky Guard. The brigade returned from its most recent deployment to Iraq in 2012.

The brigade is made up of units across Kentucky and numbers more than 2,600 soldiers.
