Kentucky Park to Host Elk, Hunting Show

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (AP) -- An eastern Kentucky park in the heart of the state's elk country will host a three-day elk and hunting show early next month.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 6-8 at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park at Prestonsburg.

The event at the park's convention center will feature seminars, demonstrations and vendor booths with hunting and fishing guides, taxidermists, outdoor sports and more.

Admission will be $5 each day. Concessions will include elk and buffalo chili.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will host a Big Game Banquet on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. EDT, featuring a live auction, silent auction, drawings, games and a meal. Admission is $20.

Proceeds are used to enhance elk country habitat in Kentucky and across the country.
