NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Tennessee man sought on a warrant for aggravated assault has been caught in southern Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police troopers found 53-year-old Anthony G. Carpenter, of Hendersonville, Tenn., at the Days Inn in Cave City, Kentucky around 6:50 a.m. Monday.

Hendersonville police had contacted Kentucky troopers around 2 a.m. to alert them of the possibility that Carpenter was staying at the motel.

Carpenter was charged with being a fugitive for justice and was held at the Barren County Jail. It was unclear when he would be brought Tennessee to face charges.
