Many volunteers of all ages gathered at the State Park Saturday morning to participate in the 25th Annual Trashmaster Classic. The goal of the event was to help clean up the lake's shores and win prizes for what was gathered. It's always a lot of fun for the participants but they also helped in a big way.
"Over the past 24 years, we've collected over 430,000 lbs. of trash, which is like 218 tons. You can imagine what the shoreline would be like without that." said State Park Ranger Holly Myers.
After the volunteers finished their clean up, they were able to enjoy some live music , free food, and door prizes.
