LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- A judge has ruled that jurors in the murder trial of former state lawmaker Steve Nunn will be allowed to hear evidence that he engaged the services of prostitutes in the week leading up to the death of his former fiance.

Fayette County Circuit Court Judge Pamela Goodwine on Thursday ruled that prosecution evidence showing contacts between Nunn and women from an online dating service in August and September 2009, just before the shooting death of 29-year-old Amanda Ross, was relevant to the murder case.

Defense attorneys had sought to have information about the dating service excluded from the August 1st trial, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported.

Ross was gunned down outside her Lexington apartment Sept. 11, 2009.
