Attorney General Jack Conway's office announced Friday the lawsuit was filed against Bluegrass Women's Healthcare owner Dr. Canh Jeff Vo.

FRANKFORT, KY (AP) -- Attorney General Jack Conway says the state has filed a Medicaid aid fraud lawsuit against the owner of an Elizabethtown clinic previously charged with health care fraud.

Conway's office announced Friday the lawsuit was filed against Bluegrass Women's Healthcare owner Dr. Canh Jeff Vo. It alleges he filed false claims with Medicaid by using non-FDA approved intrauterine devices in his patients.

It alleges Vo purchased the devices over the Internet and illegally imported them into the United States. It says Vo did not inform his patients they were receiving non-FDA approved devices.

In March, a federal grand jury charged Vo with health care fraud, mail fraud, misbranding, and smuggling. His trial in federal court is set for May 22.
