The Kentucky High School Athletic Association had its State Golf Tournament in Bowling Green for four straight years.

The KHSAA announced the tournament will stay in Bowling Green through 2020.

Boy's and girl's golf are two of the four sports that play state finals in Bowling Green, something Commissioner Julian Tackett says is a credit to the city.

Tacket says, "For this event and a lot of the events they host, this community just gets it. They get what our events are about. Education based athletics, community involvement, great facilities, great volunteerism, and a first class experience for the kids."

More than 300 student athletes and their families come to town for the event.

It's estimated each person spends about $130 per day.
