Governor Ernie Fletcher says Kentucky will not be a safe haven for illegal immigrants who commit felonies.

The governor wants Kentucky to take part in the federal government's efforts to deport illegal immigrants convicted of crimes.

Fletcher has asked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to allow Kentucky to be a partner in the effort.

Kentucky has more than 460 foreign-born convicted felons--many of them illegal aliens.

They are either held in Kentucky prisons or free under supervised release.

Nationwide, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has added 280 jobs to help search for illegal immigrants in jails.

Well, it seems Kentucky has a Governor looking out for Americans best interests. Hey, that's a nove idea. Too bad for Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, New Jersey, Florida, Texas,.... they have Governors looking out for big business, don't they?

Thank you, Govenor Fletcher. Every state and locality in this nation should be mandated to check the immigration status of every person arrested. And if that person is determined to be here illegally then they should be deported. Why do we let them loose to reoffend?
