Kentucky State Police have charged a woman after a 2-year-old boy that she was supposed to be watching was found wandering in the street in Union County.

Police say the child was supposed to be in the care of his aunt, Susan Shepard, who lived about a mile away from where the child was found.

Shepard was unaware the child had been missing and was arrested for wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

The child was examined by a medical technician and later returned to his grandparents' custody.
