Freedom Fund Banquet Benefits Educational Scholarships

The Bowling Green- Warren County branch of the NAACP sponsored their fifth-annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Oct. 6.

The theme of the banquet was "Power Beyond Measure."

Proceeds from the banquet went to benefit community programs and educational scholarships.

Six scholarships were handed out to young people as well that will be used for their education.

"That's what we hope for these young people is to receive, take advantage of in terms of using it for usefulness and then learning to give to others as they get older," said Jerry Wells, former NAACP president.

And our very own Ryan Dearbone served as master of ceremonies for the event.
