An accident Wednesday afternoon closes a major roadway, sends several to the hospital and claims one life.
It happened around 3 p.m. on US 31-W just one mile south of Richpond in Warren County. The Warren County Sheriff's Department says a preliminary investigation indicates a white Chevrolet pick-up, driven by 70-year-old James Davis, was going south on Nashville Road when the driver apparently drifted into the North lane. Police say it struck a black Chevrolet Blazer driven by Mike Perry of Bowling Green, then hit a red Nissan. The driver of that car was lifeflighted to the Medical Center and pronounced dead. Police are not yet releasing the victim's name.
Another car, also traveling North on Nashville Road, ran off the roadway to avoid the accident. Its driver, who was pregnant, was taken to the Medical Center where she was treated and released.
