Officials Say Plenty of Flu Shots Are Available

Flu season is right around the corner and officials say there should be plenty of flu shots available to Kentuckians.

Public Health Commissioner William Hacker says there have been no manufacturing or shipping issues this year, which means the vaccine is in plentiful supply.

National guidelines say children ages six-months to nearly five-years-old should receive a flu shot each year.

Adults over the age of 50 are also urged to get the shot.

The state also suggests you wash your hands often to protect against germs and avoid close contact with those how who are sick.

If you are interested in getting a flu shot:

  • The Warren County Health Dept. will have a flu shot clinic Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
  • The clinic will be by appointment only.
  • To schedule an appointment, call 781-2490 ext. 225.
